Disney on Ice: World of Fantasy

On Saturday we went to Disney on Ice: World of Fantasy which was playing at the Oakland Oracle arena. We decided to get there an hour early because they advertised "meet and greet" the princesses an hour before the show starts. We thought, sure, why not? Kaitlyn would love it. Well, we walked into the arena and followed the signs to where the princesses were going to be. We got there and there were throngs of people coming from both sides of the arena. It seems we went the wrong way because we were fighting against all the traffic. Basically the "meet and greet" meant standing in a group of people, very close to each other, and trying to hold up your child to see the princess standing on a decorated stand. I thought I would be clever and put Kaitlyn on Ryans shoulders then stand in the back against the wall so we wouldn't block anyone. Well, apparently that wasn't allowed. It kind of made me upset because we weren't blocking anyone so why did it matter if she was on his shoulders? I also think it upset me because they falsed advertised. On TV it showed little girls getting to meet the princess and such. (am I over-reacting?) Another thing is, is that they had 5 stands set up and were only using one and they only had two princesses -Cinderella and Princess Tiana. They took turns coming out and would stand for about 3 minutes posing for the cameras then went back behind the curtain. Basically, you were fighting the crowd so your child could see the princess then the worker would announce that everyone had to leave so the other crowd of people coming could see. We were there for about 5 minutes total. It was poorly organized. I just remember walking away saying to Ryan, "Really? we came an hour early for that?" I think it bothered me more then Kaitlyn.
So, we found our seats and sat there for about 45 minutes until the show started. Kaitlyn was very excited and very anxious. She was looking at Ryans watch every 30 seconds waiting for the big hand to get to the top.

The show consisted of Cars, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Tinkerbell. I thought the costumes were great and some of the ice skating lifts that were done were really impressive.

Overall, it was a great day as a family. It's very rare that all 3 of us get to go do something like this. It was fun spending time together!
